On May 20, 2020, Tom Santa Barbara, President of DirectAdvisors, was invited to lead a webinar hosted by the Associated Builders & Contractors, Empire State Chapter. The topic of the webinar was “Prevailing Wage: New Reporting & Record Keeping Obligations”, and was attended by 50 chapter members.
New York State has increased compliance for contractors by amending a bill making contractors and subcontractor responsible and accountable to provide additional disclosures to workers on public works jobs.
The bill has been law for more than 10 years, this amendment ups the ante regarding full disclosure of the supplement dollars on every job. The amendments to the law take effect June 26, 2020.
